Bear Lake was a great time! We went camping with Buck's family- his parents and sister and brother's families but also Aunt Susie and cousin Allie and her little family and cousin Chris. Ben found an awesome place too.
It's in Dingle Idaho, near Bear Lake. It's 40 acres of wild land with open fields and tree groves and a pond. There is archery, a playground and play cabin, some small cabins, tents, teepees, canoes and kayaks, a couple tree houses, a campfire with old arm chairs around it, and a make shift outdoor camp kitchen and covered tables. The old couple that owns it lives on site too and we got to talk with them a lot- super nice old couple, kind chatty lady, Dana, who I enjoyed getting to know too. The whole place was old school and super eclectic and random. Those kinds of places are either sketchy or amazing and this one was, thankfully, amazing. The randomness of it all! And what an oasis of land for any kid to explore and imagine on! Needless to say, we were never bored there.
So we spent Thursday morning and afternoon on the
pond, the kids loved it. Rose and Hazel were obsessed with the little
kayaks and surprised me with how good they did paddling for a good
hour or so! June loved the paddle boat and taking kids and grown ups
out on guided tours of “bird island” and saving dragon flies in
the water. We had breakfast and lunch there and explored and played.
Then we went to the north shore of bear lake and set up and that was
perfect. The kids played in the shore and Buck brought the boat out
too so we got to take some rides. It was perfect and that night we
had a good dinner and then laughed around the campfire.What more could you ask for in life?
Bear Lake is magical!
Family photos in the shirts Jade and Curtis made- she tie dyed them and Curtis made the design on the back and they heat pressed them on- a labor of love!
