Baby Animal Festival

 We went to a baby animal festival. Thankfully we didn't pay for it because it was kind of weird... nobody was there, no workers or anything and they just had tuff everywhere like old fall and Christmas decorations and work trucks and construction equipment and drill batteries and hoses and a weed whacker and stuff just left around. All the little buildings that said "Donut shop!" and stuff were boarded up and blocked off. There were some animals but you couldn't touch them really unless you broke the rules (which okay, maybe we did because a blind little newborn bunny was lost in the hay and scraping its head against a sharp nail that was sticking out of the wall and we had to rescue it!) So anyway, it was random. Despite this, we made the best of it and the kids till had fun. June spent forever talking with a turkey, the kids played in the corn pit, Rose chased a loose pig that somehow got out, and there were some slides and a rustic zip-line that we helped ourselves to. They did have a brand new store, wedding venue, and cafe up front (clearly where they are putting all their money and time right now haha) and so we had dinner together there afterwards and it was fun to be together. :) 

Service- Earth Day

 For some service this month, we did our traditional litter clean up! We just walked the path by the lake and found plenty to clean up. It's not just that people are jerks and throwing their trash every where, but we get a lot of wind too that blows it out of trash cans and such and snow that buries it too. It's always good to clean up the earth! Even in our own little corners. 

Afterwards we watched some little shows about the earth and animals and learned a lot! 

Girl's Weekend- St. George

 One of my friend's from my neighborhood, Christine, wanted to do a weekend in St. George, where she has a house, for her birthday. She is one of my hiking friends and Christa, another woman who usually comes on the hikes as well, also came. So it was just the three of us! And we had a great weekend with a lot of laughs and adventures packed in! 

Hot tubbing first thing in the morning and then breakfast

Then we went on a hike and explored lava tubes and got off trail and ended up hiking through the sand and that part was a bit rough haha

Then we relaxed at the pool and all was right in the world

Then we got donuts and got sushi and celebrated a little bit the birthday girl

The next day we looked at some of the shops on main street and I found the store that is selling the girls' prints from when I went to Ethiopia!  It was surreal to stumble upon! 

Then more pool time haha

Then we got some amazing greek food and headed out on an evening hike. And yes, it's a long story but we ended up matching (well close enough so they made me buy black shorts haha) I said we looked like bees

The hike was beautiful! Started out through green trees and red dirt and then lead onto white washed rocks and onto "candy mountain" which is a stripped rocky little mountain area and it was amazing!

I decided to bring my actual camera this time and I was so happy I did. The sunset was UNREAL.

One other woman showed up and took this photo of us, which was so kind! 

Otherwise, we had the whole place to ourselves!

And then we did some late night hot tubbing and ukulele playing around the fire

And then.... some more ukulele in the morning. :) We also celebrated Christine's birthday that day! 

And at the restaurant they gifted her a purse that had a mirror in it and it was so random we laughed so hard and it was the best ending to a fun weekend!
