Kids Who Care- Retirement Home

For our second activity for our kids' service group in the month of June we went to a retirement care facility and visited the residents there and then played games with them and even sang them a few songs! It was super sweet- everyone enjoyed it- kids and elderly alike! We all plan to go back again!

June's Disney Trip

My parents are starting a new tradition of taking each grand kid on a Disney trip for a few days. So June got to stay on after we left California and go to Disneyland with my parents! They went to both parks and had a great time!

California- Universal Studios

The last main day of our trip was spent in Universal Studios! We were mostly excited for the Harry Potter section, since, as you may recall, Hazel is obsessed. (We're on book six together!) and the other kids have watched the movies with us so they were all excited too. We had fun exploring, shopping, riding the rides, and eating at the Three Broomsticks.

Also worth documenting is how HOT it was that day. It was nearly 100 degree! So we had to keep ducking into shops and cafes to cool off and survive. It was a bit draining haha. But in the early evening everyone perked up and came alive again.

A special thing happened too. We went to the wand shop presentation and in that they choose someone from the group (there were several families there) and the shop owner chose Hazel to be his special participant! She got to be a young "witch" shopping for her wand, and, as they say, the wand actually chooses you. So she got to do a few spells with a couple wands but they weren't right but then music started playing and he picked out a certain wand and as it was placed in her hand she was lit up and wind blew across her. haha it was epic and funny. And guess what wand it was? It was a hazel wood wand! So it worked and we of course bought it. ;) You can use the wands too through the Hogsmed to do spells at certain places so she loved doing that. June also picked out a wand.

Sugar coma

The rest of the day was spent at the fun shows, more rides, and wilting in the heat some more. ;)

In line and they were scared for the Mummy Ride. lol
Ended the night with the castle light show.
I feel like I took a lot of photos of these two sleeping haha.

And that was a wrap on our trip! It was a great time with a few mishaps but over all it went really well and I'm so grateful we were able to take that time to be together and make more memories.

The next and last day we slept in a bit but then woke up and made the drive back home to Utah!
