Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from our family of nursery rhymes!

We have:

Mother Goose, The Muffin Man, Little Bo Peep, Little Miss Muffet, the Cat and the Fiddle (Hey diddle diddle) and of course, Humpty Dumpty.

I've been wanting to do this family costume theme for a few years and I figured this was probably the last chance I was going to get with the kids getting older and older. (and yes, June and Hazel get to actually dress up differently for actual Halloween. But it was worth it. 😉) I did an obscene amount of research into the original origin of each nursery rhyme and tried to get the costumes as close to the original as I could.

Hey Diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle- the cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such sport and the dish ran away with the spoon.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put Humpty together again.

Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet, eating her curds and whey- when along came a spider who sat down beside her and scared little Miss Muffet away!

Little Bo Peep lost her sheep and doesn't know where to find them. Just leave them alone and they will come home, wagging their tails behind them. (this one goes on to tell a whole story about her actually finding them and they had taken their tails off and hung them up! So random!)

The cutest little nursery rhymes I ever did see.

Always need to get a couple photo, right? I think we look good together, although I'm a bit old for him. ;)

Old Mother Goose, when she wanted to wander, would ride through the air on a very fine gander.

And last, but certainly not least- Oh Do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man? Oh do you know the muffin man, who lives on Drury lane?

I'm so happy we got to put together this family costume before it was too late to get my kids on board! ;)
