Fall is Coming

 Despite my efforts to keep summer around all year, the seasons keep moving on without me. The ONE blessing after summer leaves, however, is that there is an autumn time. I really hate winter (I know, it's like I've never said that before) but I do love Fall time. Its beauty truly is unmatched and I'm grateful for it's gentle, colorful ways. 

We got to go escape into the mountains for a little bit the other afternoon. The sun was super bright but I still got some great photos. ;) And we all had a nice relaxing time and the kids gathered up leaves to bring home. Winta was home visiting for the weekend as well. All around, a 5 star afternoon.

Labor Day

 Since Buck can never take any days off work, we especially love holidays, even ones that give us just one day. Labor day is one such day. And it was also extra special because my old college roommate/bestie, Mandy, was in town and stayed with us for a few days. We hadn't seen each other for several years! So it was nice to be together. And good old Mandy, she just chills and fits right in with anything and anyone. My kids all loved her and didn't want her to leave, and neither did I! (She currently lives in Texas) So here's a few photos from our adventures that weekend. 

First we went and had a picnic in the mountains.

Then Buck took the kids to an arcade and Mandy and I went on a hike!

We did some karaoke with the kids that night too.

Tuesday Mandy and I took Rose and Johnny with us to the butterfly biosphere. 

It was a quick trip but so great! Also, we stayed up way too late talking. ;) Anyway, other long lost friends- come visit me!
