Skiing

This may not seem like a big deal for most people but it was for me- I went skiing for the first time! I'm 38 and yet have never been! And why? Because I was scared and because I've told myself that I'm "not athletic" and figured I'd be horrible at it. But I have a good friend, Katie, who has passes and invited me to come with her and she would teach me. Turns out I wasn't horrible and I graduated from the bunny hill pretty fast. ;) I did a couple real runs and rode the ski lift. I only fell once the whole time (I'm sure if I had been there even longer I would have fallen more times haha.) I overcame some big mental hurdles though so I'm proud of myself!

Service- Flowers and Families

For some service this month we did a couple of things. First, we passed out flowers to strangers. I had wanted to do this on Valentine's day but it didn't work out. Thankfully the flowers survived another week and we were able to do it finally! We just went to Walmart and the kids split up with Buck and me and went around till they were gone. Johnny was the real heart throb, passing flowers out to women of all ages saying, "I hope you have a good day!" I think every woman said, "Aw, you just made my day!"

Then I did an event with my non profit, Your Light International, where we take family photos for those who may never have the opportunity. It was the first time bringing June and Hazel and Winta's second time. They were truly so helpful! Helping with paper work and getting kids to smile. I loved having them there! I think next time Rose could come but it might be some more time before Johnny is ready to focus haha

Hazel's Birthday Festivities

Hazel had a great birthday and a great start to the double digit life of being 10!

She woke up to decorations:

Then she opened presents

And had waffles for breakfast

And then she played with some of her gifts. ;)

One of her gifts was to pick out a bike so we went and did that!

We made it home just in time for her party! Her friends showed up and we did cake and presents.

And then I took her and her friends to Color Me Mine, a place where you can pick out a pottery piece and paint it however you'd like!
(you can almost see her name on this chalk board.... haha like, come on, can't they clean it?!)

Afterwards she hung out with a few of her friends then had one of her favorite foods, orange chicken and rice, and then we watched the Wonka movie together as a family since it's currently one of her favorite movies. We loved celebrating Hazel all day and I hope she felt how special she is!
