We went camping there with Buck’s family for a long weekend. And by “camping” I mean in a KOA camp ground right off the noisy highway and train tracks…. It felt like we were staying in a parking lot. And it was loud and ugly. But that is my only compliant. Otherwise we had a great family weekend.
The last weekend of July we went camping at Lava Hot springs with Buck's family. We hung out and had good food. We got to go to the Lava founder’s day parade and that was fun. It’s a very small town. Got lots of candy. The local grocery store was throwing carrots from their parade float. I ran into an old friend from Jacob Lake, Jessica so that was cool too to talk and catch up with her. We got square ice cream on main street. We made necklaces at camp. We played in the river, and Rose jumped in in her clothes! We went to the hot springs and soaked. The cousins all played a lot. We floated the river, which was really more like rafting down mini waterfalls haha so that was treacherous but funny. And COLD. We roasted s’mores. And Buck and Johnny attempted fishing again and caught nothing. As always.
It was a great long weekend. The only thing I would change was where we camped. It was a KOA so you are basically camping in a parking lot and it's right off the loud and busy highway and train tracks so it was beyond loud at night with semi trucks and trains passing through.
Now for the photos!
