On July 3rd it was a big morning! Winta had her citizenship ceremony. So we got her and went to that. It was so different from Haben’s. Haben’s was at the office where you take the test and stuff. There was only 29 people getting naturalized. She was told only to being one guest. There was no musical number.
Winta’s was at a reception center at “This is the place park.” There were 120 people getting naturalized. They could bring two guests each. There was a musical number AND a National Anthem performance. There was a judge who spoke. It was so much bigger and more official. So interesting.
Here's a list of all the countries represented at Winta's ceremony:
Am. Samoa, Argentina, Brazil, Burma, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo, Costa Rica, Ivory Coast, Ecuador, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Germany, Guatemala, Iran, South Korea, Mexico, Nepal, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand, Ukraine, UK, Uruguay, Venezuela, & Vietnam. So cool!
But first here are a couple photos from a month and a half ago from when we took her to take the citizenship test, which obviously she passed!
