Death Valley National Park has the lowest point in North America and is also the hottest place ever recorded on earth! 136 degrees I think it was. We were there in January, off season, and it was only 65 degrees that day!
First thing we did at Death Valley National park was we went to Badwater, the lowest place in North America, 282 feet BELOW sea level! That area is a salt flat but currently it’s under a rare shallow lake from a recent rare hurricane. So we got to walk on the salt flats but then into the shallow waters. It was magical and unlike things we usually see!
(Full disclosure, I did photo shot some people out of some of the photos haha but mostly it wasn't very crowded and we walked a bit further away to our own spot where people weren't going.)
