June,
The years keep coming and they are getting more wild to navigate each time. Wild in good ways, wild in hard ways. This past year has been a roller coaster! But you have been strong and open to all its changes!
You continue to be full of imagination and fun. Kids are drawn to you and you still hold the title of "The Pied Piper" of kids. You come up with more creative games on the spot than anyone I know! You have this magic about you that everyone feels. Everywhere we go you find kids that seem shy and you open them right up and invite them in. You seem to make friends any place you are.
Your confidence and boldness has been noted. You made friends with the boy who works at Maverick gas station, the boys who were lifeguards at the pool and your friend's brother's friends... so maybe calm down on all those boy interactions... 😜 You did have your first "boy friend" for about a day towards the end of the school year... Let's hold off on THAT for several years as well. ;)
You recently started babysitting for neighbors as well and whenever I get a text from a parent they say "my kids love June and really want her to babysit." And then you show up with a fun bag of games to play when you do babysit. No doubt you'll always be one of the favorite babysitters!
This past year you also started learning the hard lesson of fights with friends- the drama and losing those friends. But we have been so proud of you for standing up to those who were making fun of others and for choosing to stay in your good group of friends and not being lured in by the temptation of "the cool mean girls."
You still love baking without a recipe, crafting without a plan, and going BIG for whatever it is that instantly pops into your head. You also still love writing poems, songs, and stories and you are very talented at that!
You have many talents shining through as well- writing is a big one, but also hip hop dancing and dancing in general, singing, acting, abstract art and comic book art, ice skating, horse riding, and photography! It will be fun to watch your journey and see where you go in life!
You love animals and have spent a lot of hours outside trying to find birds and learn about them. You snuggle the cats and beg us to get another dog. When in the mountains you find caterpillars and all sorts of creatures, and you're weirdly talented at catching flies mid air. You've been loving horse lessons and connecting with the horses too!
You're so full of life. You are the life of any party and always making us and others laugh. I truly hope you never lose your goof ball side, it's always been one of my favorites! You're adventurous too and want to travel the world. You love to climb trees and explore, ride bikes, swim, and try new things. You are a wimp about cold water though... like me. haha
We're all a little nervous for this next chapter of junior high school.... but also excited to watch you bloom. I know that there are amazing things on the horizon. 💖
Your birthday also marks the day I became a mother and feels extra special. I'm sorry that we have to learn as we go with you but thank you for being forgiving and resilient. We love you so much! I'll never forget that feeling I had when I first saw you! I've loved you forever and always will.
Birthday Interview:
You forgot me already!
