We finally made it to the mountains- first time of the year! We took some friends as well. We went to our spot and, while I love hiking, I also love just BEING, you know? Just having slow time in the mountains. It hits different there. My kids wasted no time getting into it either. Rose and her friend were pretending to protect their kingdom with sticks, Hazel and her friend went foraging for things to make a fairy house, June and her friend carved their initials into a tree and then made a small bon fire (that we put out completely before we left) and Johnny busied himself by a dammed up spot in the river. It was a much needed reset.
