Boise!

Going to Boise was a last minute decision but the best choice and perfect place to end out our summer break. As you can imagine, the majority of our time was spent swimming in my parents' pool. These photos span over the whole week.
(also to any Boise friends- since this was last minute and I really just needed some chill time with my family, I didn't end up seeing anyone else while I was there! But next time for sure. 😘)

We also did a "late" night swim with the girls and then roasted marshmallows on the fire AND they got spoiled with strawberry shortcake.

There were also plenty of hang out times in the house too, dress ups always the main activity. But I didn't take very many photos of that since really, we were mostly in the pool. ;)

There was also trampoline jumping and some garden thieving.

One day we went to this tabernacle tour thing that they have up temporarily. It's modeled after the ancient temple/tabernacle of the Old Testament in the Bible. It was very impressive to see and insightful to learn about. My dad, Buck, June, Hazel and myself went to this. My mom was kind to stay back with Rose and Johnny.

It was being held on the property of the HUGE headquarters of Scentsy. (who knew good smelling wax would be such a jackpot?!) There were displays inside of the tabernacle as well but also there were lots of random giant stuffed animals...

Another day we ventured up to Bogus Basin ski resort. It was an insane windy road on steep cliff sides and it just kept going and going and I have no idea how people manage to drive up that in the snow! But anyway, it was super chill up there, which was so nice. My mom and I took the older girls on the alpine coaster, which was so fun, and Buck took sad little Rose (she really wanted to go on the coaster too but was too little) on the chair lift. The big girls also got to bungee jump on trampolines and then we all panned for gem stones and fossils. A good afternoon!
The faces of discovery.
He was not happy to be in the stroller.

So we got him out. ;)
Yoga time. haha

And then! A few other times Buck and I got to go on spontaneous dates! This was such a highlight for me. To be able to leave and just be together, so wonderful.
One night we went shopping at the fancy outdoor mall.

Another night we went to a late night movie after the kids were in bed. We saw "Yesterday" and it was good! Then we got out super late and taking sleepy drunk photos with all the signs seemed like the best idea at the time.

Another night I went to a church activity luau with my mom.

And of course, since it was the last week of our summer break, we made sure to get shaved ice a few times.
It's always hard for me to leave Boise. I just feel so calm there. It's not my house but it is my home. My parents are great. My dad always has cool things to show the kids and my mom is a kid at heart who is always playing in the pool with them and making us yummy food. She also always leaves me fresh flowers from her garden in my bedroom when we visit.

So long Boise! So long Summer! I'll just be here in Utah crying. 😭

It was a perfect week in many ways. And honestly part of the reason you feel so calm when you come here is because Boise is not as frantic as Salt Lake/Saratoga springs area. I know you guys probably never will but you should move here.
