During our week in McCall and Boise Idaho (yes, I'm still, somehow, blogging about this,) I gave June my old SLR camera and Hazel my old point and shoot and I let them take photos with reckless abandon. I love doing this. It causes them to notice little things, to get excited about colors and nature, to show us how they view their world and those of us around them. They want to explore more and forget about TV shows or fruit snacks. I've also been able to teach June about how to work an SLR camera, very basic things, but I'm excited to pass down what I know to them.
Okay, that's probably enough gushing about photography. For now.
After culling through over 500 photos that June took,(!) here are the ones that were my favorites and that tell the best story. I only did very minor edits to them such as some contrast or color correction but that's it! Also, there are a couple with her in it because she would ask someone to take her photo for her. Haha, a true tourist!

There were several photos where she found one single, tiny flower on its own and I love that she noticed them.
Back in Boise, she went on a bike ride with her dad and took about 100 photos of the neighbor's shrubs, flowers, and trees. So I narrowed that down to a few, along with their other adventures. ;)
And a few last candids at the grandparent's house, other than that she was far too busy swimming and playing dress ups to be taking photos.

I love these! She has a great eye for composition. It always amazes me the perspective kids have. When I give Abe the camera he always notices interesting things I never would have noticed.

Just being with her when she takes pictures I see how much she notices the small things. And I love how she zeros in on single items like the moss, a pinecone, a leaf, Feathers flowers. Even though it's a little hazy I really like The close-up on the water bottles, and I specially like the close-up on the pink toy, and the mountain peak with snow on it. I like her perspective on pictures of people. And lastly I have to mention how much I like the picture of the two neighbor cats that keep jumping the fence into my yard. She got them together and I don't know that I ever see them standing together very often so that was pretty unusual.
