During our time in McCall, Idaho, we also ventured out of the cabin and to the water front of a few different, beautiful lakes. The first one was a bit windy and chilly so we didn't stay too long but it's always healing to be by the water for any amount of time and the girls found some feathers so it was a win in their eyes.
My little, cold chicks.
Another day it was cloudy and chilly out but when we trekked up the
steep hill and saw what was there, it was all worth it! A
breathtaking view of a mirror lake reflecting the mountains and trees
on the completely still glass water- and no other souls around
besides ours. My brother in law, Dan, tried some fishing but nothing was biting. Mostly it ended up as an exciting activity for the girls of reeling
in lake muck. My niece, Ginny, is HILARIOUS when she fishes. “Come on fish! It's
time for bed time!” haha Buck and Hazel also went on a little hike and
found walking sticks. My mom took time with the girls to teach
about nature. My dad and I took photos. Erin sat and lounged like the pregnant woman she is. Good times.

The last day we all went to the state park and to the lake there. Stunning blue,
clear water. It was still a little chilly out but that made for an
empty, calm beach. Hazel especially loved digging in the sand that
was, apparently, filled with “treasures.” (or lots of sticks and
rocks.) Then we had a picnic on the grass nearby. Lastly, we took the scenic drive through the rest of the state
park. But we were in separate cars and I later found out that the rest of my family
saw wild baby foxes! I'm still jealous. But anyway, the lake...
Idaho is truly one of the best kept secrets.
