Little Girls

Watching my girls start to grow up has already taught me how packed with personality they come. And there is very little we do to influence them when it comes to their core self. For example, June loves princesses and unicorns. I wondered if my girly ways caused some of that but then there was Hazel, also my daughter, yet not swayed in that direction.

She is thrilled that she's been a shark and an alien for Halloween and all she can talk about is how she's going to be a bat this year. She wants to be a scuba diver or "super hero man" when she grows up.

She is feisty and mostly just cares about being goofy and making everyone laugh. But she also enjoys work and learning how to build things. She is very literal too and often corrects others. One of my favorite quotes was when a friend said, "I'll be the fireman and you be the fire girl." To which she replied, "Emmett, we are not fire people, we are humans."

She claims that she "speaks candy" and she often has a running dialog involving cotton candy and bubble gum. It's funny though because when it comes to choosing food or even treats, she'd much rather gobble up fruit and cheese and only picks at pudding and cake.

But don't be fooled, she also loves a skirt with a good spin, tutus, and claims that pink is her favorite color. So she's well rounded. ;)
