This last weekend we had another opportunity to take our girls through a temple. Every time there is a new LDS temple built, they have an open house and during that time anyone can walk through and tour it. It helps to dis spell the idea that we're doing super weird things in there. It reiterates the fact that what is done in there is not secret, but sacred. After an open house time period is up, then the temple has a dedicatory prayer said and at that point you need a temple recommend to enter. Which anyone can obtain if they want to follow the gospel. :)
And it's always cool to see these buildings. Such great care is put into them and they are beautiful, pieces of heaven on earth. It's special to be able to share that as a whole family, even if it is during a busy open house.
This year we were able to go with Buck's family also.
This temple is extra cool because this building use to be an old historic tabernacle but one day an accident happened and the whole thing caught fire and burnt down. No doubt God wants to show us all that no matter how much you may feel surrounded by ashes and rubble in this life, even if you feel completely burned and worthless, that He can make us into something even better and eternal.
I hold to these truths because of the blessings we are promised. When we follow God and do our best we can live together with our families. I will do anything for this!
And... afterwards we had a late dinner (past bedtime) at a diner. And I finally had some country fried steak (I always crave this) and it was a good night. :)

I'm a little jealous, but mostly just happy for you and your family. What a neat experience to take your children through the temple and I love your simple and sweet testimony in this post!
I can't wait to go through with our kids :) And I too love all the symbolism with it being rebuilt for a higher purpose.
Utah has a lot of temples. Ha ha my favorite line ;) I was totally looking forward to your photography of the inside but, duh, no way, huh? Okay, truth is my favorite line was, I will do anything for this. I let that one sink in for a moment.
I remember singing a number of times in the Provo Tabernacle before the fire. I was thrilled when they decided to turn this beautiful old building into a temple. I wish I could go to the open house! They are having an open house for the Philadelphia Temple this summer, though, and we are hoping to go to that one!
So excited to check this out! When they announced that they were going to make it into a temple I remember being so filled with happiness!
