Yay my sister had her baby girl! So last weekend we ventured to Boise to meet her.
As soon as we opened the car doors we were hit with the smell of lilacs from my mom's bush.
That night I went to the hospital to meet my new niece! I'm a first time aunt here so it was extra exciting. Too bad I couldn't see her face that first meeting... dumb jaundice.
Saturday it rained and rained.
Which is okay when all you want to do is hold a new baby.
Uncle Buck. haha
We also had fun hanging out at home.
It finally stopped raining so we let June stay up past her bed time so that we could go swimming in the hot tub. We're bad to the bone.
Brazil flag, what's up.
Then we got to come inside and eat strawberry short cake. Just writing that now made my stomach growl.
On Sunday the skies cleared up again.
So we went and spent more time with baby girl. And we took some random photos.
I also took newborn photos for my sister. This was Hazel the whole time, not being a helpful assistant.
Cousins!
Here's a couple from the photo shoot. To see them all click HERE.
Presenting Virgina (Ginny) Elizabeth.
Okay. So the whole weekend I kept seeing these mini fields of purple flowers off the sides of the roads. But since it was raining Saturday and then we were busy Sunday I didn't get a chance to go take pictures in them. So on the way out of town to head back down to Utah I made my little family get out of the car so I could take these. No regrets. But yeah, my girls were in their pajamas. Which kind of makes me like these even more.
This photo of me makes me laugh. How do you look when you're tromping through deep grass?
And then the sunsets on the drive home didn't disappoint. I have recently learned that some National Geographic photographers don't shoot sunsets for their personal work, like, maybe they are above that or something. I don't know, I thought that was weird. I hope I am never too good for God's colorful lullaby.
And that concludes this super random post of photos and ramblings. Yay Boise Idaho and new babies, especially babies that make me an aunt!
