Butterflies

Now that we've all gone through the magic of Hawaii together, I have some unpacking to do on the past couple weeks. A few weeks? I'm not sure how long it's been since we've been home.

So. I got a butterfly "garden" and that was fun. We got to release the butterflies after they hatched.

And then it escaped.... oops

We now all have bikes, or in June's case, a bike trailer. We are already loving our family bike rides by the fields near our house. It's made for some good exercise, fun family nights, and happy mornings.

I went to "baby animal days" with my friend Sonja. It turned out to be pretty treacherous. A) it was hot (which is fine with me but not so much for June.)  B) The goats were SAVAGES. At one point I sat June down on this little tractor thing and one came up and head butted her into the steering wheel. Not okay. C) We attempted to calm down after that and had ourselves a little sit down on the seats of hay. It was the most prickly and unpleasant experience my rump has ever encountered. I drove home pantless and still have stickers stuck in my shorts even after washing them. D) For some unknown reason my point and shoot camera stopped working. Still broken. E) I was already out and about and so my friend had to bring sunscreen for June and one of her baby boy's hats for her to wear. I added June's headband to girl it up but she still looked like Gilligan from Gilligan's Island.

But on the bright side- I got to pet a baby cow!

We got to go up to the mountains and have a bon fire with some friends.

Oh and mother's day!
Buck and June spoiled me. Had eggs benedict for breakfast, got sweet gifts, got to relax, got to paint the bird house that June got for me, made s'mores in my new little fire pit, Buck made a great dinner involving king crab legs (!) I got to take a lavender bath, and Buck gave me a great massage.
Really, the best first mother's day. :) (and don't judge my non-edited photos.) (and I'm not showing my gifts to brag or something, just documenting my mother's days so I can see how they evolve through the years. ;) )

So the way I painted the bird feeder ended up looking like it belonged in the Bahamas. (all the houses and buildings there are painted multi-colored like this)

Yesterday June, Erin, and I went to the pool. June is a little water bug and loves these activities. Guess I should fill up the kiddy pool I got last summer for my pregnant self. (It was a bust.)

And I love to see the temple.

AND last week I was making my dinner list for the week. I asked Buck what he wanted for dinner on Friday. He said that he was bored with food and that he wanted a "pudding dinner." So Friday night when he got to the table all he got was a bowl of chocolate pudding with a glass a milk. I don't think he knew how seriously I took his request.

No but really. That's all we had for dinner that night.
