Dear June,

We hadn't even been married a full year before you came into the world. Newlyweds and new parents, you came sooner than we ever might have planned! But here you are! A whole decade old today!

And it's clear why you needed to come so quickly into our family. More reasons than I could write here, but June Bug, we'd never be the same without you. Your creativity, energy, ideas, and social needs are unmatched. You're so FULL of life.

You're a writer of poems, songs, and stories. You're a singer and an actor. You're a friend and the most fun big sister. And some of my most favor traits of yours are your gifts of goofiness and weirdness. Please stay weird and silly forever!

 

You tell me that you want to travel the world with me and I hope that's true because I've got a lot of future plans for us. :) And while you're not some crazy daredevil, you have grown to love big roller coasters and other such adventures. You also love camping and nature, which makes me soooo happy! 

 

You're at a crazy age right now, a "preteen" they call it. You are in between two worlds. You really like "cool" stuff like make up, clothes, jewelry, and reading books about kids in middle school. And yet I still find you in the thick of imaginative play, even playing house with your siblings. 😉 But if you could please stop begging for a cell phone of your own, that would be awesome. You are not getting one any time soon. 😘

 

I'm sorry that sometimes I'm not the best mom but I promise you that I am always trying and doing all that I can to be my best! We have loved you for what seems like forever. One decade but yet, it seems we've always known you. We can't wait to see all that you accomplish in your life, you're something special for sure!
