FALL BREAK

Yes! We got a fall break! So lucky to have school in the first place so that we can have such things as breaks. Since travel is still hard to do, we made the best of life around home. We had Thursday, Friday and Monday off!

First we went to the zoo since we haven't been in probably over a year. It was fun!

She loves maps.

Then we got to go see Hocus Pocus at the movie theater, which (witch hehe) was more fun than I thought it would be!

Then we went and stayed a night at a hotel. Just an Embassy Suites but the kids thought it was "so fancy." Haha. It was fun for them to get out of the house and shake things up for a night. WE went swimming until too many people tried to get in so then we left. We had Olive Garden for dinner in the room. We watched a movie. And the next morning we got breakfast in the lobby.

And then to make things even better we ended up going and having a bon fire with our friends on the most perfect autumn evening. It was such a dream!
You might have noticed the strange pants situation in some photos, or maybe not. But Johnny destroyed his pants at the beginning of our time and we didn't have an spare so I tried making some out of a jacket but that wasn't great for walking so ultimately he ended up pantless. haha
Blue also went from a white dog to a black dog.

And then the last night before school started back up, we somehow found the energy to go to Corn Belly's- the ultimate fall festival extravaganza. Although this year they didn't have as many things to keep life safer but it was still fun!

Are you tired just from reading that? I have no idea how we didn't pass out after that "break" but it was fun and the kids were so happy!

And- As I've noted before, Winta and Haben have jobs and work pretty much every day so we miss them a lot and they haven't been able to go on all our adventures anymore but we are excited for them to take this next step in life!

No school here, so no fall break. :( But on the bright side, we're still having days with temps in the 70s, so I can't complain!
