Italy: Day Three- Markets and Art

Day three was the big day of the wedding but we had several hours to kill before that. Because of the previous day's grumpiness Buck decided he wanted to stay back to give the girls a break (and probably himself haha) and so thankfully I had my cousin Molly there not only to nanny but also to go adventure with me! (note: she was only in stuck with our kids two evenings for the wedding and wedding dinner. Other than that she traveled around with us and saw everything too!)

I loved this half day with Molly. We forgot our map and neither one of us had cell phone service so we had to figure things out with our brains (heaven forbid) and try to communicate with the Italians, who were all so nice, by the way. It kind of felt like being a missionary again.
We wandered into a local produce market and I was dying at all the colors and beautiful food!

Once we figured out the bus system, we made it to the center of the city and finally got to go into the Duomo, famous church.

And Molly lit her first prayer candle. :)

The excitement continued as we walked through a protest.

Then we wandered

And finally made it into the Art Museum.
Note: Please, if you go to Florence or probably anywhere in the world, plan ahead, buy your tickets online. Online tickets to this museum were 4 euros. Buying them the day of was 12 euros and a three hour line wait. Or, if you're short on time, like we were, and desperate, you end up buying a tour ticket for 40 euros and still wait in line for an hour and then have to ditch the tour once you're in and blaze through the whole thing alone. haha

And then I was reunited with my girls and my Buck. They were out getting more gelato.

And then we were off to do all the wedding stuff! Read all about that HERE.

Wasn't one of your life goals to get lost in a foreign city? I'm sure this probably wasn't the first time but that was pretty brave! This is all so surreal and beautiful and I wasn't even there...you must just be that great of a storyteller!

That bridge with the flats on them! Wow! And, could you imagine if all of this was just normal to you as a resident? Crazy! Did you see many kids?
