Halloween Celebrations

I've been feeling all guilty that I didn't do enough for Halloween and was a bummer-mom but then as I was making this post I'm like: WHATEVER. My kids are spoiled! We did plenty. So much so that it required its own post. ;)

First up was the church Halloween party. Lots of friends, chili and corn bread, and then trunk or treating.

One day we got special special invitations from Buck to a "Harrison Team" Halloween party. 

For the party we watched a spooky movie and had Witch's brew (dry ice.)

We had a little pumpkin pinata with candy inside (because they weren't going to get enough candy?)

And then we roasted Halloween marshmallows.

Then one night we did our annual Halloween photo shoot. We did it only with one other family, Buck's cousin Qyunn and his wife Chelsea, but they couldn't do the Denny's dinner afterwards so we were a lone family. Which, with crazy kids these days, was probably for the best. 

Buck said he felt weird with his cape on at the restaurant. But then I was like, "Don't you feel MORE weird without the cape because now it just looks like you always wear your hair like that and darken your facial hair....?"

For family night we carved pumpkins, well, pumpkin. The girls painted theirs.

On Halloween day I got to go to June's school for the Halloween parade.

And then we went to Buck's work to trick or treat, like we do every year. 

Buck wore a different costume to work- he was a BUCK.

June has a teenager face in this photo because she was mad we wouldn't let her sit down and binge on her candy.

And then Buck took the girls trick or treating around the neighborhood.

I stayed back with Rose and passed out play-doh and puzzles to the kids

And once they were home, we had our spooky dinner. I decided to do what I did last year and it was a hit once again! Candy corn jello, brains in a pumpkin, hot dog mummy, banana ghost, and pumpkin mandarin.

And lastly, a Halloween highlight! 

Buck's Aunt Susie made this adorable little bat quilt for Hazel, since she loves bats so much. I have a feeling this will be staying out year round in her bed. :) (I also need to show a picture of the amazing unicorn quilt she made for June the other month!)

And then my mom surprised me with an early birthday gift of this cool decorative quilt she made for me! We had seen the pattern at a store in Idaho this summer and I mentioned, half joking, that I needed my mom to make it for me. But then she did! And I love it.
