Lately- Jolly July

The depression always starts to set in once July ends- why is summer going away already? 😭 This summer has gone extra fast, I think because I'm in such a daze with having three kids and trying to keep alive. I blinked and it's August. Ugh. I feel an extra pending doom with the thought of the upcoming winter.

But I digress. Let me focus instead on some happy things like July.

First off, Life with Luna:

One time I turned around to discipline June but she surprised me by being dressed in this get-up:

We went on a movie date! We didn't see "pider man" but Wonder Woman and we liked it!

And our monthly temple date- I was OBSESSED with the temple flowers!

She sneaked into my bed for some morning Zzz's.

Swim day at a friend's house, the way summer should be!

Does anyone else get overwhelmed by things like this? Like, why are there SO MANY things like this?! LOOK AT ALL THESE SHOPPING CARTS at Costco! This is just ONE store! ONE!!!! And they have this many carts! Because there is that much of a demand on buying bulk everything at any given time and everyone needs a cart and somewhere there's a piece of earth with a factory on it that made these carts. How much earth does that take up? How many resources do we pull from the planet to make so many shopping carts? How many shopping carts are there in the world?! #overwhelmed

(But don't worry, this lead me to research the history of the shopping cart, which was pretty interesting.)

I guess I just really liked this sunset or something?

Hazel's first real dentist check up!

Sometimes when I run errands in the evening without my kids I invite a friend along and sometimes we buy fancy soda's.

Hazel loves tiny things so much so I had to get her these.

And to be fair, I got June some clay, which she loves.

Hazel was just chatting it up with some older girls who were all enthralled with what wise words she had to say.

Okay, so it wasn't completely silent, there was a lot of baby singing going on.

American Fork Parade! In all the six years we've lived here we've never made it to this so I was determined to go! And I'm happy we did because the girls thought it was the best thing.

My nephew, Harvey! He was born the day before June's birthday, July 19th!

Afternoons in the yard,

She constantly attacking my face with kisses and I love it so much!

We went to see the children's production of Lion King and they did an AMAZING job! Look at the costumes! And the talent was top notch.

I made a birthday cake for my friend Amy's daughter who would have been 6 years old a week after June turned six. Amy and her two little girls were killed this past November and it's so heart breaking so I wanted to do something to help their family know their girls are always remembered. 

I can't get over the name of these sodas- Mr Flav. HAHA! Surprisingly they tasted really good.

I told June to make us all breakfast one morning. So we all ate toast with butter, sugar, and frosting. And drank some... er, yummy water with frosting garnish...

As I looked at my counter of gifts June asked for from her birthday, I felt like maybe we aren't failing as parents.  ;)
