This is the earliest we have ever
gone in for an early gender ultrasound. We paid to go to this place where it's not a doctor office
but a business for finding the gender early. I had SO much anxiety as
we got close to the appointment time. I was most anxious that we
wouldn't be able to see or find out and I'd have to go another day
being anxious until we could go back! What a silly thing to be
anxious about but hey, it is what it is.
The place has the most comfortable
bed EVER. As the girl was searching around with the ultrasound
device, the baby was all upside down with the cord between the legs.
If we would have been at the hospital they would have given up but I
love that at this place they didn't and they reassured me that they
would find it. After some water and jiggling they found it!
GIRL.
I started laughing and the anxiety rushed out of me so intensely that I started to shiver and shake. Bodies are weird.
I just thought it was so funny that we really only have girls on both sides of the family. Our now three girls, Jade (Buck's sister) is having a girl and Erin has Ginny. So crazy. But I am also excited and somewhat relieved since having a boy made me nervous. I was a little sad for Buck but he really was so sweet and truly happy and excited. I'm sure there is a part of him that would love to have a son just as I would long to have a daughter if I only had sons. But I am thankful for a wonderful loving husband who really is happy to be surrounded by girls. And I do believe that God sends all those girls to special dads because he knows how precious they are. So there's that.
After it was done they gave us cookies and water, the ultrasound photos and a white carnation flower in pink water that then turned into a pink flower a couple hours later. What a cute idea.
Everyone in our families had great
reactions. I think they all thought it would be a boy this time. So
everyone was surprised.
But just think of it- “The Harrison
Sisters.” Maybe they can start a band one day. ;)
This first trimester has been weird. I didn't find out until 7 weeks. With the girls I was six around week six but this time I was feeling fine. And I continued to be relatively okay until about week 10 it randomly hit. One thing is that I had to take progesterone pills because my levels were low and that's the hormone that makes you feel sick so I'm pretty sure those are what did me in.
My diet started out in survival mode:
But I really started to listen to my body and the fact that it was telling me to STOP- these foods were only making it better for ten minutes but then I was MUCH worse later on. So I listened and started eating a good breakfast and then only healthy, filling snacks after that until about 5:00 pm I was too scared to eat anymore because it seemed no matter what, I was doomed to painful and debilitating bloating. Aren't you SO glad you're reading this post?
So, you know, every night I looked 6 months pregnant. But this first photo is an early morning, true bump photo.
These were on my other posts but here is 12 weeks. Baby? BLOATING-
14 weeks
In summation, this trimester was slow to hit with its sick magical/horrible powers but once it did there were a couple weeks of gagging gagging gagging. It's still not all better yet but once I stopped the pills I noticed a difference. So hopefully in the next week or so I can really relish in the second trimester glory!

I love that you are having another girl!. You are such an amazing woman that it is great that the world will have 3 more amazing women raised by YOU! I have no doubt you would raise amazing boys too, but you don't have to worry about that...yet!! And hooray for feeling slightly better! Also, I demand a private performance from the Harrison Sisters at some point. I'm absolutely certain they will be (and ARE, in June and Hazel's case) full of musical talent.
I am so excited for you! Your family is certainly good at girls :)
In my family, we tend to create packs of boys. Crazy how that happens!
God just knows your family raises good, strong, amazing women so he's trusting you to do what you do! My third baby bump popped out very quickly as well!! I'm excited to see more as you go along!
I think it's funny that my parents' family is dominated by BOYS, but then your Dad's part of it is all GIRLS.
