This year for Valentines Day it was a spread out celebration. Before the month started I wanted to do something that would help Buck and I feel more connected during a stressful semester (always) so I made up the "14 days of Valentines" and each day there was something to do for each other. I'm not much for making pinterest posts so I'll spare the list for each day but one of them was to make breakfast in bed for each other (so this spanned two days) and I was proud of how our breakfasts turned out so I am posting photos. Ready, set- here they are:
I made Buck chocolate waffles with vanilla sauce
And he spent two hours making me quiche!
This is also why many of you may have seen our embarrassing videos we posted one day on facebook to each other. That was "Publicly declare your love" day. haha
So the first 14 days of this month were extra sweet.
Also during this time there was an Valentines adult dance at our church for the ward members. They had a nursery set up for the kids so we thought, "what the heck?" and we went to it. It was pretty funny. We had never gone to a "dance" together before. Turns out we look like fools together on a dance floor. And it was awesome. No but really, we were laughing the whole night. And had you seen us, you would have been too...
On actual Valentine's day Buck made crepes for breakfast and I made a candle light dinner of crab stuffed ravioli, asparagus, and sour dough bread. And of course we had sparkling peach cider. We also gave each other some random gifts and it was good. It was a busy day for Buck, though, so we waited until Saturday for an actual date. We did get some fun packages from family that day, however.
And this was the candle we burned during dinner. Neat, right? (a birthday present from Carrie)
For our February/Valentine's date we wanted to do something classic, something we never do anymore- Dinner and movie. A rarity. And a romantic movie at that. So we actually went out to the movie theater and we watched Safe Haven. Afterwards we ran out of time to wait forever at a restaurant so instead we got Sushi from a restaurant and took it home and ate it after June went to bed. It was a good night.
We love celebrating holidays in our home! Especially with June bug, our little love bug.

Spreading out holidays is the best!! Also, I can't believe that you guys hadn't been to a dance together before!
sounds super fun! good job for taking the time and establishing the thoughtfulness now! I did my own 14 day of love for my kids and Tim and it was a great experience!
What a good idea! Frank and I have only been to one real dance together and it was also when we were newly married. And I can't dance worth beans. But it was fun. It was also a ward activity and we were on the activities committee and worked so hard on the decorations. And it was awesome, if I do say so myself! We had a dinner and we invited all the wives to bring their own table settings / decorations for themselves and their husband. So the tables looked so unique and so fabulous! Lots of fun!
