Okay so some random odds and ends of our time in Glenwood Springs Colordao
We decided to go for a drive and check out the marble quarry. There is a mountain there where they extract marble from that they have used for a lot of things around the country. So there's this quirky tiny little town there as well where they have a bunch of random marble statues in different areas so we also checked that out. We drove up to the entrance of the quarry and it was really cool to see all of the marble including an area where there is a natural waterfall going over the marble rocks. They also had a pile of marble slabs that said, “community pile please take one.” So you better believe we came home with a few slabs of marble. I guess we'll have to figure out how to carve statues now. Haha we also got hit with a nice summer thunderstorm as well while we were out so that was fun.
There were also these random coke ovens we got to see.
All the white rocks are marble
We also stopped at a local donut shop!
