This hike was a journey! We started later than normal and it was hot and we were all struggling more than usual. We've actually done the first part of this hike before to silver lake but this time we continued on to silver glance (basically a pond) and then attempted to get to the fabled Sword in the Stone. There is no actual trail for that part, just research I did and someone who made a map on all trails so we did our best. But ultimately Christa and I didn't feel safe or capable of going on because it was basically rock climbing on a cliff side and it really was very dangerous. Christine and Laura Lee went on and made it to the sword though! So I added their photos here too. And, to be fair, Christa and I did make it over some difficult rocks on that ridgeline. But better safe than sorry. On the way back down we swam in Silver lake and it was so great! We were gone all day! I am very thankful to Buck for taking care of things back home while I did this! It was a great day, even if I didn't make it to that dang sword. (I'll always be sad about it.)
