Anniversary Celebrations

 This past weekend Buck and I had an overnight getaway to celebrate out anniversary early. We ate good food at a small fancy Italian place that took two hours to experience. And then we stayed at an Airbnb condo thing downtown. 

 

Then for our “do something new that we’ve never done together” tradition we went and had a psychic reading done. Haha More specifically we had a tarot card reading. It just seemed like a fun cultural thing to do. It was in a back room of the Cat and Caldron witch store. And when our reader, “Anthony the Witch,” who was a large barefooted man wearing lots of rainbows and holding a small one eyed dog, came to get us, I had a hard time not laughing about it all. I mean come on, A ONE EYED DOG. In the room there was incense smoke curling up to the ceiling and actual crystal balls nestled near some plants. 

We chose which deck of cards spoke to us most and got going. Buck first asked if we should move. The cards, I think, told us not to. We got advice for each kid and then ourselves. And guess what? It was all totally spot on. But in a general, could be spot on for anyone, kind of way. ;) It was fun though and Anthony the Witch was very earnest and kind and you could tell he cared a lot about what he was doing.  

Then we went and stopped at whatever food or drink place we wanted and I gotta tell, I loved that. We got pastries, steamers, lemonade, ice cream and middle eastern food. It was the best.

Today is now our actual anniversary but we are driving to Boise. But happy anniversary to us! 

I usually have something thoughtful to write but my brain is all out of thoughts these days. Life can be a bit tangled but even though sometimes we have a hard time communicating or figuring things out, we really do have such a strong foundation of love and friendship and connection to God. Sometimes I can get too focused on what are differences are but it's good to take a step back see all we have in common as well. I am excited for the days to keep going and all the ways we will continue to learn to love each other. I'm so grateful for a best friend and a good man by my side. We are truly so rich by this alone! We have each other! So happy 15 years! And here's to an eternity.
