Rose's Birthday Festivities

 Rose had a great birthday turning 8! She really wanted a dog theme birthday, even thoughI did that once when she was two, she's been requesting it again ever since, so I finally did it. :) 

Rose doesn't love the traditional coffee cake and so we did french toast

I opted for focusing on the flavor of the cake and didn't put my efforts into the look as much 😅 But she still loved it! I made her a pumpkin chocolate chip cake! Because she LOVES the cookies and bread. I was very happy with how it tasted. I did a cream cheese frosting as well. 

Also had some "dog food" (cocoa puffs cereal) in the dog bowls ha 

Then we had her party at a new place in town called Sky Zone. The kids had fun jumping, sliding, running, and playing around! 

Afterwards we had pizza, cakes and gifts in a party room

Each guest also got to adopt a dog! 

And as if that wasn't all enough.... when June turned 8 I started a tradition of an over night hotel stay. I don't know why, I guess June felt so old at that time and since 8 is a big deal for us in our church since that's when you can decide to get baptized. So we did it with Hazel and now did it with Rose! 

For a couple years now she's been dreaming of staying at the Grand American Hotel. Had to save and budget for it but it was so fun! Buck got sick and couldn't join, which she had wanted him to, but Rose and I still had so much fun together! 

That evening she just wanted to hang out and be lazy after her busy birthday. So we got snacks and watched a movie and then got some room service dinner. We did go down to the lobby to explore and see the Christmas window displays, the lights outside, and the giant gingerbread house! 

That night we cuddled in bed and then I read her some of her birth story and then all the letters I've written her on my blog for each of her birthdays. 

The next morning she was up and ready to go! So we went to the pool when it opened and had it to ourselves! But mostly we sat in the hot tub haha

Then we got room service breakfast and ate in bed while watching a show

I could use a few more hotel days like that! haha 

It was such an epic birthday for our special Rosie!
