We did something exciting this past week. Last Friday night the kids all went to Buck's parents for slumber party so that we could surprise them and totally decorate their rooms.
So that night we were up till 2:00 painting their rooms. Saturday was spent all day building furniture and decorating. We didn't even get all the plans done but we got it close enough that we were ready to totally surprise them when they got home that evening. It was a LONG day. We hardly ate or even went to the bathroom!
But it was all worth it when they got home. I told them Dad was down in their rooms and needed to talk to them because an accident happened in their room. First I did it with June while Hazel and Rose were distracted and then after that I brought down Hazel and Rose so we could fully soak in their shock.
They were all every shocked and surprised! We got videos of it too! It was super fun. They LOVED the rooms.
June had a gem stone/geode themed room.
Hazel and Rose had an even more random one because Hazel really wanted one themed after the book “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and in that book there is a town where it rains food. So I tried to do that while still keeping it girly and whimsical. I focused on making it rain sweeter things like ice cream and cupcakes. And yes, there are puffy clouds that I hung fake food from hanging from their ceilings.
It was a raging success. But man, we were tired!

These turned out so fun! I love how you brought their interests in and that they have an area to hang their artwork/special things.
