Lately- Calm January

This has been the calmest January of my life. What a fantastic feeling to not hate January! I'll talk more about this later, though, so now, onto the random happenings that got us through.

Lots of baths. And afterwards holding "baby Rose."
As you can see, the cats didn't have a hard month either.
Look at these super cute animals my grandma made for Johnny! She's made other ones for the girls too!

Johnny in his skunk outfit.

He's happiest if he's packed around in this and able to hold my finger.

There's been lots of building with these tiles so there will be photos of those creations throughout this post. haha

I had some fun girls nights. I don't always remember to get a photo but this one time I did!

I guess maybe it was raining inside?

I should have documented this better but as you've seen in other posts, I dyed my hair HOT PINK. haha It's temporary and faded out so much now but it was vibrant for a while there!

June wanted hers done too. I didn't think it would stick since her hair is darker and we tried once before in the summer and it didn't take at all. But boy was I wrong....

Board games and popcorn

Afternoon play doh date with Rosie

Girls outing to the Asian market and then the Harry Potter thing at the mall!

The Children's Curiosity Museum with friends!

He's cute and gives kisses now too.
I guess you have to do this at least once to every kid.

I was just happy at how well Hazel did at this game.

A big dream of mine came to life this month- my plant wall! I'll probably post more about this later as well but here's all the plants and the mess and the final product!

When all the girls watch "Call the Midwife" with me.

Cousins. They are watching the same shows on different phones.

June was "babysitting" Johnny while I got dressed and she came up with this idea on her own and he was so happy that now I use this method every day as well. haha

Miso approves of the new little couch

My friend Tracy has been living with us a little bit and she's a yoga instructor so it's been fun to find her doing it with my girls.

We got some snow days!

More creations.

I've been taking A LOT of baths so I felt it needed to be documented.

A full moon in our window

Trying to get things done.

Cell phone photos never do it justice but this light on the mountain tips was amazing!

Tracy trying to pass along her love of cabbage to Johnny.

It's pretty crazy that him snuggling with me like this is already a rare thing. How did that happen?!

Mickey and Minnie Mouse twins

I've been going to Bachelor show parties with the girls in the neighborhood and it's funny.

We found a new(to us) museum! There was a live animal show there so we went. It was fun to show the girls what a real museum is like- full of old things! (and apparently reptiles.)

Not sure who put this little billboard up but I like it.

Borrowing a new bouncer!

I'm so obsessed with my new butterfly art! Something else I've been dreaming of for a couple years.

Building and lazy Saturday morning cartoons on the parents' bed.

Teaching the girls about how Jesus Christ is the light in darkness.

I thought these blue hues were cool together.

He's already a ladies man

Crazy hair day- donut hair

Building in the sun.

Puppet show by June at the library. (where we checked out 42 books! haha)
Then a family date night to pizza!
June saw this spilled water on the table and said it looked like Jesus.

Tracy took June and Rose for a winter walk to the lake!

Little puppies carrying pillows at Grandma Jo's house.

Buck surprised me with these amazing bath bombs!

And lastly, a purposefully far away shot of the blood wolf moon.

That does look like a good month. I am glad you are liking the winter better this year.

Sometimes a month passes and I don't think I've done anything but grocery shopping and laundry. You sure know how to live! I'm wondering where in your house is your new couch and your butterfly art, and I don't know if I've told you but I love your plant wall!

I’ve decided that in some ways January is becoming a favorite month because after the craziness of December i get to sit back and make life more simple in January. I still don’t have yard work to do and so I can get other things done in my home and just enjoy kind of snuggling in and taking it for what it is. Love all of your pictures and especially your plant wall and those butterflies are amazing. All the kids pictures of course are just wonderful to see and be able to get a feel of what you guys have been up to. The one of you cuddling with Rose at the beginning for some reason is one of my favorites because I can just see how much she would love that. She’s come such a long way in the last few months.
