The Wonder of Science

For June's birthday she asked for all sorts of fun sciencey type things and so sciencey type things she got! (insert parental bragging about how smart my child must be and how she's clearly the ONLY kid like this.😏)

First up was the telescope. I was thrilled that she wanted one so I jumped at the chance. I'm kind of a space nerd myself (little known facts about Anna) and so I hope my kids can have the sense of wonder about it as well.

Next- the volcano!
While doing the experiment, "June, do you know what's in baking soda?"
"Hibernation!"

Then there were the caterpillars she got and we all enjoyed watching them grow, form chrysalis, and then emerge as butterflies. Then we went to the mountains and set them free!

Lastly, she got a robot kit. It's pretty intense work to put it together and she has started doing that with her dad but it's not finished yet!

So there you have it! Some STEM projects going on around our home. ;) Just in time to get ready for school to start again.

I remember I loved looking through my dad's telescope when I was a little girl. I would like to get a caterpillar / butterfly kit like that!!
