Memorial Day

Memorial day was this magical day when we got to do a million things and get a million needed things done? Do you ever have those?

First we got our hike in, and at a new spot! Cascade Springs. It's a natural spring and it's pretty cool, even if June touched stinging metal leaves and got a burning rash...

Then we stopped by the cemetery and noticed that all these veteran flags had been set up so we went to check it out and discovered that my grandpa Dabel, who is buried in that graveyard, had his name on one of them! It was special to find. He fought in WWII in the Navy. (And my Grandpa Pew in the Korean war! But he's still alive:) ) We got a poppy for my grandpa.

Then we ate ice cream, Hazel napped and Buck and I got a lot of yard work done, okay, so it was mostly Buck. But I helped and got a lot done for my non profit. 

And then we got invited over to my grandparent's house for a barbecue with other relatives as well! It was a perfect day with a blessed amount of more-than-normal-hours in it.
