Dinosaur Land

We finally did it- we made the trek to Vernal Utah to visit my best friend Carrie and her family. June made sure that the 2 1/2 hour drive there turned into a 3 1/2 hour drive.
But at least she chose pretty places to pee

We rolled in Friday night and just spent the time hanging out in good old Vernal!

The next day it was time to party. We were celebrating Georgia's birthday a few days early and she wanted to pick flowers so that's what we did! It took some strife to find the right spot but once we did it was worth all the stress- it was perfect!

Then we had a donut tower cake. We tried to light a stick on fire for a candle but let's just say it's a good thing kids have a good imagination.

Georgia opened her present from us- a parachute! The kids loved it.

And then it was time to play in the river. Carrie's girls ended up wild and naked and free by the end of it.

But why stop there? We HAD to go to the dinosaur national monument.

You take this traumatizing tram (could they not paint happy dinosaur friends instead?) to the quarry where they have a section of the concentrated fossils and bones on display. Pretty cool!

And by that point, the kids had had enough.

So we went back to Carrie and Scott's house and spent a calm evening there, letting the girls play.
Inside the girls got to play "Simon Says" and ring around the rosie. Things got... pretty chaotic, but in the best way.

And then it was time to say good bye!

We drove home at bed time and it was a good idea. It was calm as the girls slept the whole way home. And nobody had to stop and pee.

HOORAY! Thank you so much for coming! Georgia is still talking about it. Every time we go somewhere she says "Is June there?"

I took my boys there 2 years ago! It's a beautiful place. They weren't traumatized by the tram, though. But then they're boys, and older, and they love dinosaurs!
