Buck's Table

It's finally done! It's actually been a few weeks but I've been too busy to document it- but the coffee table Buck started building last spring is now done! To his credit, it's not like he was working on it that whole time.... he's a busy guy so it took so long simply because he didn't have the time after he started! But I am one happy girl with the end result. I think Buck is happy too... when it was first done he kept stroking it and talking about what a great experience it was to work with the wood and how much he liked how it turned out. (don't hate me for writing that Buck...) Looks like I've got a man who wants to build things. No complaining here. (Just a lot of patience and planning way, way ahead needed..)

And then, as you can probably tell, those two middle pieces lift up and you can store stuff in the middle. There's a "secret" hole you put you finger in to lift it up- toddler proof!

And THEN you can flip the sides over and have a chalk board party!

It's a great thing to have. Want to watch a movie? Flip the table around and let your child color away. Have company coming over? Flip it back and look all sophisticated and stuff. Does this make it a mullet table? Business in the front and party in the back, right? Hmmm

Well, this is a going to be a well loved member of our furniture family for years to come. And the fact that Buck made it makes him all the more dreamy.
