So there was a balloon festival in Boise while we were there. We had wanted to go but the launch got canceled Saturday due to too much smoke in the air from nearby fires. There was one more chance Sunday morning but by Saturday night they posted that they wouldn't know until last minute if they would be able to launch so we went to bed thinking we wouldn't bother with it. But then my mom woke up and saw that they posted that the launch was going to happen. Long story long.... we thought we would be too late to see much but decided to go drive and see what would be in the air. So we didn't wake up the kids. But then we got there and the launch was late so we were there at the perfect time and it was magical but I was also sad that I hadn't brought the kids after all! It had just seemed not worth the risk to wake them up so early and maybe not see anything. Oh well, that's how life goes sometimes. But I was grateful that my mom hadn't gone alone and that we could have that magical morning together. Guess I'll just have to take the family to New Mexico next year for the world's largest balloon festival. 😜
