You've had a big year of growing too! You completed the year of full day kindergarten and did so well! You learned to read and made lots of friends (and always came home with notes from girls who loved you as well.) We read chapter books together, you understand intelligent humor, we have many conversations about all sorts of things. You did basketball, baseball, and swimming lessons and even started horse riding lessons. You did lots of camping and hiking and you love it! You have dreams of being in a rock band one day and also of being an astronaut. And you've got big plans to live in a motorhome when you're older and travel around the world.
The older you get, the more energy you seem to gather. You have a hard time sitting still even to eat your food. You just need to be running or jumping all the time it seems! You love to ride your bike, jump on the trampoline, swim, kayak, throw a ball around, and race! The older you get, the more you also love to pester your sisters as well. You seem to be sliding into that classic little brother roll nicely. 😅
You've still got your tender little heart though. You will do anything to save bugs from being killed. You like to go on walks just with me. You still always hold my hand and are constantly requesting "cuddle time." One night on a walk you were actually riding your bike but regardless, you kept trying to slow down to stay by me. You still love to always be by me. And by your dad too. You're equally a momma's boy and a daddy's boy. Some of my favorite times with you are cuddling and reading Magic Treehouse books together.
You could also win the prize for most impatient kid on the planet. When you know you want something, you want it RIGHT away and cannot stop talking about it or asking about it until it happens (or until you finally realize it never will and then you're crushed and an emotional mess) We're hopeful that trait will shine through when you're older as a nice determination and a go-getter attitude. haha
I can't believe I was ever nervous to have a boy. Now I can't ever imagine not having a son. You're sweet and fun and my best buddy. Deep down I feel like we're always going to be best friends. Maybe you'll even look out for me in my old age. ;)
I love the way your mind works and the questions you have. (Even if you ask me a million every hour. 😆) I love that you love rock music and also instrumental movie scores. You're always humming the movie music from films such as Harry Potter and Star Wars. You are especially always humming when you're in the bathroom and recently you were humming Star Wars so loudly while in the restroom at a dentist office and made all the desk receptionists have a good laugh. You've got a sweet, on tune singing voice as well. Will it serve you one day to sing church songs or for a rock band? ;)
I hope you have the best birthday ever! We love you SO MUCH! We're humbly grateful to get another year with you and can't wait to see all the adventures we have and all the ways you grow and learn.
