Palm Springs

This was our first time doing a trip with adult, couple, friends. We were excited. We all got super cheap tickets to Palm Springs CA so that's where we went. We got a house rental with a pool and hot tub.

Friday the flight went well and relaxing. We got there and got dinner all together at an Italian place and then went to the grocery store and shopped for food like we were all 6 year olds let loose in a store for the first time. Like, why did we buy so much crap and sugar? Haha. Bad idea. That night we got in the hot tub, I think? And we stayed up late talking and laughing.

(ALSO- I didn't bring my real camera because I was trying to be a normal person but man, I regretted it the whole time! haha I missed my camera but made things work the best I could with my phone.)

Saturday, after some swimming and games, we all went and did a touristy thing and took a famous tram out of the desert and up the mountain side to a surprising forest area. We explored around there and that was fun. Then we got lunch in town and did some window shopping on the cute main street.
Then we did more hot tub and swimming time and playing games and talking again. It was a good night. We played some super funny games that left many in tears with laughter. Good memories.

Tried to take a selfie with my shirt and childish cereal. I made a comment as I did so that I was not good at selfies. Then I realized that I was spilling my cereal in the selfie- so, the point has clearly been made. haha

On the adventure.

Sunday was great. We all decided to get some healthy food and stay in and swim and watch General Conference together.

However, Buck was super sick with a high fever and stayed in bed all day. :( He had been worried he was sick but tried medicine and stuff but by Sunday he was full blown sick. (spoiler- after we got home he found out that he had influenza and pneumonia. yikes! Poor guy. But thankfully antibiotics really helped!)

That night we did go out and get some take out for dinner of pizza and crepes. I brought back food for Buck. I also took a dare and wore a bath robe into public to get the food. Haha

But the next day we did need to check out so we all relaxed, got ready and packed up. Poor Buck had no choice and nowhere to rest so he took medicine and wore a mask. We headed to Joshua Tree National Park. We stopped at a few cool places along the way like a huge cactus garden and then the trees! The trees are super cool and the rocks? They are actually HUGE boulders that make these massive climbing hills and were actually really cool.

We got stuck in traffic for forever and made it back into town with just enough time to grab food at a Jewish restaurant before catching our flight home.

It was such a great weekend and a fun way to travel- with friends! The group of people there are all so kind, chill, helpful, and funny. It's easy to have conversations, to laugh, play games, and explore. We didn't have to worry about anyone who is easily offended and angry all the time or anything like that. To have so many great friends is a blessing I don't take for granted! We are grateful for them and other friends in our lives who we love! And we're also grateful that Buck isn't sick anymore. ;) Looking forward to a more healthy trip next time.

That tram ride looks amazing!

I laughed so hard at your cereal spilling selfie! I am no good at taking selfies either.
