Rose's Birthday Party

November 30th was Rose's birthday! It was a great day for her. She woke up and got presents and pancakes. She got a lady bug AND rollie pollie farm and a few other things.

Birthday cereal. ;)

Then we got dressed and Rose, Johnny and I (the others were at school and work) went to the mall for her other birthday surprise. We got to the mall and she said, “Why are we here? This place seems BORING.” But I proved her wrong! I took her to Build-a-Bear. She's obsessed with stuffed animals so it was a dream come true and magical land for her. She settled on a white, sparkly Elsa bear and got her a white dress as well and a cotton candy scent in her belly.

After that we went to the food court, which Johnny and Rose both thought it was “amazing!” Haha And we got pizza and ice cream, two of Rose's favorites. And after that we went to the indoor play ground for a little while! The mall ended up being kind of the best place ever for a 5 year old's birthday.

That night we all went as a family out to dinner at a restaurant, Denny's. She just loves going to restaurants and hey at Denny's kids eat free so that's where we went. ;)

The next day was her friend birthday party. But first she had school and then we went to get an x-ray because she had been complaining about her hip hurting. (but all is well.) That afternoon several little girls and one boy came over. And thankfully Jan came too! We did a “Party animal” theme since she loves animals so much! The kids all had some snacks first and got the wiggles out.

Then I hired a lady to come and do an hour presentation with live animals. And hour might sound like too much time for little kids but this woman is wonderful and engaging. She involves the kids with questions and they get to interact with and touch the animals. They all loved it! Especially Rose! We got to have a ferret, bunny, chinchilla, hedgehog, two crazy lizards, a cockatoo, and a tortoise! It was great!

Rose got to be the special helper.

After that we had a pinata, cake, and presents. Phew! It was a party marathon but went really well! I have felt guilty some years that Rose's birthday wasn't as exciting as it could have been because of the time of year it is. I feel like I made up for that this year for sure. ;)

Happiest of Birthday's Minty Rose! 💖

Also, that bird looks so crazy! Does it not grow feathers on it's body? Is it sick or is that normal?
