Lately- October

Alright! To start things this month's recap off, let's begin with cat snuggles

Cat piles in this house

Speaking of snuggling animals, here's this month's installment of Rose loving all the animals that she comes across.
But of course, she's always most loyal to Bleu.

We also went to the animal farm one day and she wanted to stay and hug the goats for forever.

Pony rides!

And speaking of animals, a sad thing happened during October. June's pet rats died. So I guess rat's life spans are about two years, which we were almost at that point but they got sick. I had taken them to the vet and they got medication and seemed to be a little bit better after that but over all the one rat, Cookie Dough, just never gained the weight back and again started to go down hill. I could feel that he was just probably at the end of his life so I prayed he could pass away soon and peacefully so he wouldn't have to suffer anymore. And one day he did just that. June cried. Hazel got anxious about death. Johnny had questions about bones. And Rose? Rose sobbed for a good thirty minutes at the thought of Bleu dying one day.... And anyway, apparently I had more to say about this than I thought? haha But Indiana Jones, the other rat, was in a lot better health so I thought we'd have more time with him but after his brother died he suddenly went downhill and died five days later! It was crazy and I honestly think that he died of a broken heart! Poor things but glad they can be together in rat heaven now.

June made these drawings

Animal funeral

Alright, moving on.

A warm walk with a cousin.

Hazel at her art class!

Rose traced this and I was proud of her.

Birthday dinner for a friend!

Buck "watching" General Conference.

Rose's last soccer game of the season! (and maybe ever? She only liked the snacks and medals at the end haha)

Buck's work launched their new product and had an epic launch party. There were bounce houses, a motorcycle show, food trucks, face painting, balloon animals, a live concert with aerial ribbon dancers and fire throwers and fire works.... and just.... a whole lot going on. haha And ALL of it, even the food, was FREE. Great night!

A helpful astronaut.

I wanted to preserve the last of the wild flowers that Buck planted for me this year. So I got them ready for flower pressing!

Family dinner at Denny's. ;) Apparently I was hungry...

Cuddles with Johnny.

More helpers.

And a cute grandma.

Some of the Halloween decorations for the month!

Here's another story: The sage of the pumpkin plants.... I left some pumpkins and gourds out last winter and Bleu played with them and I guess planted them.... and the plants grew out of control and took over half the yard!!!

The kids got to go to a few fun parties too!

First, the cutest camping party for a neighbor friend!

Then their cousin's birthday party.

Hazel got to go a skating rink birthday party with a school friend!

And we had a movie party with a friend. (didn't loooove the movie though....)

Buck surprised me with these flowers! He wasn't even in trouble or anything, just being a good husband.

Rose is always trying to talk me into getting the pizza at Costco. haha

June got to go on an arcade and dinner date with her aunt and uncle.

Took all the kids and Buck's mom to a kids play! It was Johnny's first play and he did awesome and sat there riveted the whole time! The play was "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."

A walk to the lake with friends.

And then another day we walked on a new path and ended up at this airplane park! I didn't even know this was a thing. There were some old gentlemen there packing up to go but one was kind enough to fly one of his planes and teach the kids about it! Fun afternoon. And I love random stuff like that.

Beautiful views from our neighborhood and home! Night time and sunrise.
And the golden tree across from our house.

We also get lots of wind and rain on some days. This one day all the trash cans were out for trash day and they blew all over the place! My neighbor got this photo of several of them in someone's yard. haha

Buck and I took some friends on a double date. There was a ghost hunt at the library and I don't know that I necessarily believe in all the ghost hunting devices but I thought it would be a fun Halloween date. And it was so random and great. Just perfect for the month. Buck even got to talk to some ghosts on the third floor of the library... ;)

Hazel got to make a cool caramel apple at the neighbors and have scary dinner too.

And I also got to help out with Hazel's class Halloween party.

And of couple last random photos.... Johnny the couch potato and Rose who thinks she's a cat.

And yeah, I feel like June and Hazel weren't in this post a whole lot, especially June. I swear she's still apart of the family. It's just that there's school for the older girls but also June is gone a lot at friend's houses too so there's that! The ebb and flow of life. Rose and Johnny are basically always home. haha

What a fun and full month! The unintentional pumpkin patch makes me laugh and I love that Rose loves animals like you do.
