Hazel's birthday was a roaring success! Friday morning she woke up to traditional coffee cake and gifts and balloons (balloons that deflated over night and I was real sad about that.)
Then we let June and Hazel skip school, at Hazel's request. WE went to ice cream and then surprised Hazel and took her to the pet store where she got to pick out her own pet betta fish. She was super excited about it!
Then that evening we went to her choice of restaurant- Olive Garden, and Buck's family came too. For some reason all I have from that is this photo of me and beautiful Winta.
The next day, as if she wasn't spoiled enough, she had a friend birthday party that was arts and crafts themed.
The kids all got to craft and decorate their own party hats first.
Then they got to paint their own cookies!
And for the grand finale, my good friend Laura Lee, who is a professional artist, came and taught the kids how to make a sculpture. They made cats!

Holy moly. I love all those craft activities. So creative. And I love the homemade crayons on top of the cake which I’m sure is courtesy of Jade. Hazel‘s hat is epic and I love it. And to top it all off she has a light saber at the end. Awesome.
Umm yeah because that is the best birthday ever...The cake! Always the cake! And the cat sculptures! So fun! I dare not show this to Ginny for she will want the exact same party...
What a fun day and a fun party! I really want to try some of those painting cookies!
