Date Night on the Boat

Date nights are harder to come by this year, but somehow we've managed to have a few. But this particular one will be a date that we'll always remember. And it was pretty simple too.

We took the boat out, just the two of us, on the same lake we look at everyday from our home. Without all the chaos of the kids, Buck was able teach me more about the boat and how to drive it better. The waves were super bouncy and fun too that night. We explored new parts of the lake. Buck set up a little sushi dinner on the boat, along with sparkling cider, some flowers, and a candle that we couldn't light because of the wind. ;)

As we headed back to the docks we took our time, Buck driving slow, the stars taking turns entering the black stage as if there was a finger in heaven tapping on each one down the line. The water was black now except for the tips of each small wave glowed purple. I watched each one as the boat cut through them until we were back in the harbor with the sleepy lamp illuminating the glassy waters.

And if that's not a good date night, I don't know what is.

What a perfect date! Also, I love your suit. Where did you get it?

It’s nice you don’t have to go too far away from home to create lasting memories.
