Out Beyond

Somewhere past the headlines and articles,
 the bold font, all CAPITALS,
the comments, the opinions,
 the back and forth,
the "do this" and "don't do this,"

Out beyond the fear and statistics and charts,
the governments,
the blue screens,
the selfies,
the backbiting, name calling, misunderstandings.
 Half faces, Lonely eyes

Far away from the sea of signs-
of "stand here" and "don't stand here" or
"this door only before 9:00" and "this way/that way,"

"Please listen,"

"We're hurting,"

"This MATTERS"
Signs.

On the other side of
 Mental whiplash
Judgements
and
Fear

There's a place of peace
That you can walk/run/dig/jump/fly to

But
You must go with Open
Heart
Mind
Ears and
Eyes

And a Closed
Mouth.

It's here we are still
and we are free.

The place you remember that we are all connected
to the
universe and
to each other.

The place we rise above this marble
of tasks and rules
and find the higher reason.

Self preservation is a long lost battle,
Can you not see?
We're not to fight each other
but FOR
each other.

Together.
We are all together.
Beyond it all
A family.

This makes me think of the peace of mindfulness. Where instead of producing in the moment we actually take a deep breath, shut our mouths and consume with all our other senses and discover that the only place that matters is within our own homes.
