While we were in Island Park, Idaho, of course we had to go to Yellowstone- which was thankfully open!
First, one crappy weather day we went to the
small town of West Yellowstone. People ate, we went shopping and then
got ice cream. Then Buck and I got to go on a little date and get old
western photos taken. We dressed like a naughty cowboy/girl and it
was fun!
The last full day we went into
Yellowstone National Park. I've been there many times before but many
of the people in our group have not, so it was exciting to show them
around. The weather was
again chilly and a bit rainy at times but we managed to still see
quite a few things including Old Faithful geyser, sputtering mud
pots, deep steaming pools of sapphire and emerald gemstone waters,
and a mountain side of orange and white layers folding down like an
orange dreamsicle cake. We also got to see several large bison with
birds perched on their woolly backs. And then we shared our picnic
table area with several elk!
It was a big bummer that the lodges
were closed due to Covid-19 but I'm grateful we were at least able to
go into the park.

I love Yellowstone!! I hope I can go back there some day. I don't think any of my kids have ever been there. (It's a little harder to get there when you live thousands of miles away...)
Ok, so I thought I had been there but apparently not. It looks amazing! New goal to make it there someday! Also, Max and I always talk about the trips we want to take when our kids are grown up and most of the time we talk about how great it would be to travel with Buck and Anna. It at least has to happen when we go back to Armenia!
Yellowstone is so fun! It a bummer you had bad weather for your trip. Our Bear Lake portion of our trip is suppose to be rainy and cold too...boo!
