I'm late posting this but I wanted to add the posts I made for my dad and father in law on social media and then, of course, talk about Buck! ;)
It’s hard to explain my dad. Most people fit into certain categories, but my dad? He’s all
over the charts! He’s a computer engineer that excelled in the logic's of math and science. Yet he’s completely devoted to sports- especially baseball. It’s probably not often that a logical sports man is into Disney but I’d say my dad is most obsessed with that. But what’s rarer is to add to that the music. He’s a talented singer and plays other instruments(piano, guitar, trombone, nose flute...,) directs choirs and composes music. AND as if that’s all not enough he performs in musical theater and has been a devoted member of the local theater company playing lead male roles from shows such as: Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, Annie, Christmas Carol, Titanic, 1776, Anne Frank, and so many more! You’d think his time was full by now yet his interests still include 3D puzzles, smoking meats, telling jokes, speaking Mandarin Chinese, eating chocolate, his convertible sports car, traveling and national parks, and taking photos of landscapes, wildlife and grand kids. Above all he values family and God and has a consistent life long faith to Jesus Christ and has been an active volunteer his whole life in church. He’s always been a good father and a silly grandpa! I love you dad and sorry again for those teenage years I put you through! Happy Father’s Day!
One time I was shopping for maternity clothes with my father in law. This took the store clerk by surprise as she expressed that she’d never seen that combo before. But it wasn’t weird for me! Dennis is so kind and the most easy going guy. He’s always 100% ready to help anyone or give anything away that someone might need. He “innocently” makes the best inappropriate jokes, cooks the biggest full course pancake breakfasts, and is frequently heard exclaiming, “I’m just happy to be here!” Thanks for being such a great father (Buck’s best qualities come from you) and for being a great Pops! Happy Father’s Day!
And then, of course- there's Buck! Who has been the best dad. I know that so many wives on social media claim the same thing about their husbands but really, Buck wins. ;) (but also isn't it great to see that there are so many great dads out there?!) Buck is always so involved with helping out the family. He puts kids to bed, teaches them to build things or to swim, he does homework with them and house chores and yard work. He reads stories, wrestles, and plays lots of games with his kids. He takes the time to listen to them when they talk and he gets excited about what they say. He is proud of them and not afraid to tell them or to tell them all the time that he loves them. He carries them, hugs them, gives them kisses. He pays attention to them and observes them and knows them very well. He shows them what it looks like to be a good husband as well. These kids don't know yet just how lucky they are!
For father's day we made German pancakes for breakfast and then he got to open gifts.

Which a lot of those were different games from each kid (Buck LOVES games) so then we spent time playing the games.
And then because he loves camping and spending time around the fire pit he built, I got him hot dogs and s'mores to roast for lunch.
Then he got to take a nap and relax. We also surprised him by having June and Hazel give talks about fathers during "home church" and then all three girls sang a musical number, "Families and can be together forever."
That evening we went to his parent's house for dinner and we brought a surprise cookie cake to end the day off right.
Happy Father's Day to all the amazing men in our lives! We are truly spoiled by your goodness!
