Happy St. Patricks Day!

This particular holiday I realized why I'm such a weirdo. (Okay, only one of the many reasons.) Normal people decorate for holidays the beginning of that holiday month and keep them up for a few weeks with cute wooden things and crafted goods. What do I do? I go to the party store the day before and grab a few balloons and streamers and decorate the night before so the girls wake up to a surprise. Not sure why I make each holiday like a birthday but whatever. (exceptions to this are Christmas and Thanksgiving.) (And Halloween. We LOVE Halloween and definitely have some spooky decorations we keep up all month. 😉) 

Anyway. 

Last St. Patrick's day I did a whole rainbow thing so this year I focused back on the green of the day. I kind of do my own things but now that June is in 1st grade, she hears too much, kids talk. They made a leprechaun trap at school and June came home bouncing off the walls, bursting with excitement to catch a leprechaun and I had no plans for such things.... but the girls got desperate for action, "Look! A CRUMB is on the floor! It was the leprechaun! The pillow is tipped over! A towel got left on the ground! The fridge is a mess!" Next thing I knew, I was dying the toilet water green just because it made them SO excited. haha

  The girls had these oversized green shirts they decorated last year when Rose was a tiny baby so.... she didn't have one this year. Oops. But we found something with some green in it for her to wear... but she's cute so no pinches for her anyway.

June wrote a letter to the leprechaun, "Liam," the night before the big day.  ;)

 I don't even know what she was trying to write on the side with the picture. ha

I had a busy day actually. I had an event for my non profit that morning and then a concert for my choir that evening. My blessed mother and sister have been in town visiting and they pretty much hung out with the kids all day! So that was very helpful! But I'm bummed I missed out on some of the excitement. 

But I didn't miss dinner. We had rainbow fruit and the kids had clover raviolis (or are they leprechaun hats?) And the adults had some Irish stew, Irish soda bread, fruit, and a salad.  

 And some fun drinks.

My mom and sister also made the coolest rainbow cake!  

And then for my concert we got to go perform a few of our songs at a bag pipe concert! It was really cool to watch it and be apart of it. It's not every day one gets to sing with a pipe band, so that was fun and mom got to come watch as well.
