Driving through McCall nearly killed me off. I NEEDED to stop at so many spots to gather flowers, make art, be stunned, and explore.
So I made Buck take me to all the places I desired and nobody else wanted to come with us except Hazel. It turned into a sweet little date with our Hazel basil. She was so excited to take photos with her point and shoot.
These flowers made my heart stop!

Meadows!
Another time my mom took June exploring and they hiked to the nearby river. June came back with the most magical collection. (She also took a bunch of photos on her adventure, which I will show in her own post later as well.)
She also randomly took the time to weed the front entrance of the cabin. Hope that desire keeps up as she gets older....
And on our last evening my mom had the girls made a "glow bug" craft, gave them their own flashlights, and then took us on a "bear hunt."
At first June was all scared to find a bear (as she should be...) But as we got walking, taking the time to listen to the woods and watch for clues in the dirt, I think both girls started wanting the excitement a bear encounter would bring and eventually both claimed that they DID indeed see a real bear. ;)
And they were thrilled to find Venus!
I think, thus far, my favorite moments with my kids are the ones where we are out in nature exploring the goodness this earth gives. We're all present, curious, and only distracted by clouds, bugs, or stars.

Hmmmm.... I think several of these may need to be hanging in my house. Somewhere.
Such a lot of lovely times with family!! You need to come visit us again and see some real "glow bugs"!
Oh those flowers and the beautiful Meadows. Even though it was on the cold side it was just so beautiful there. And our bear hunt was fun. Those are the things that make memories.
