Lately- March Madness

Hi! Who's bewildered at how fast March went by? But who's also excited?! This means we're that much closer to SUMMER! And hey March, you weren't so bad yourself. You gave us some pretty rad, warm days. 

But to start, a sleeping little Rose photo- because I can never have enough.

I bought Hazel a new toy just because. I kept saying there needed to be a reason or she had to earn it somehow but then I was like, "Hey, I'm an adult and I can do whatever I want!" So I bought it and gave it to her. She really loves tiny little things.

This go around I don't seem to always have enough milk for Rose. So while she nurses most of the time, sometimes she's still hungry after both sides and thankfully she takes a bottle just fine! (unlike some child I know *ahem* cough -hazel-) But it's been fun for the girls to help feed her.

One day it was so deliciously warm so we spontaneously went to the lake to throw rocks. A favorite past time. And it was baby's first time there!

Let the nature collections begin once again. And may they stay out of my house...

It's been fun to see Hazel get some friends.

She even got invited over for her very own play date! The mom sent me this photo:

 And it's been warm enough some days to get the beloved scooters out

Story time. 

So there was this left over balloon from Hazel's birthday that had dying helium, which somehow gave it more freedom. Or it became possessed by a ghost. One night while Buck and I were sitting on the couch it came out of nowhere and started its way toward us, floated past our faces and then trailed off and left the room. That night around 3:00 am Buck awoke to see it float into our room and it came soaring over to my face so he hit it and it left the room. That morning when I woke up and came out into the hall I was greeted by its haunting presence, just still as could be, eye level, as if waiting for me to wake up. I swear I could hear it whisper, "Good morning, Anna. I've been waiting for you."

So the rest of the day I took a couple photos of it as it sauntered through the house, watching shows with Hazel, checking up on Rose. The next day I murdered it. The end.

Hazel hasn't always cared much for puzzles but one day all of the sudden she decided to do them all!

Cousin outing!

June actually had a friend over, like a real kid does. She set up a tea party and they made cookies and played dress ups.

Hazel made this snake! My mom got the girls a subscription box to this place called Kiwi crate and we have loved them!

There was some random "fruit and story day" at school that we were invited to. June was proud to have us in her class.

We checked out 40 books from the library!

I forced the girls outside, even though it was chilly. When I went out to check on them I found a pile of weeds and leaves. I asked them what they were doing to which June replied, "We're learning about different kinds of roots!" And this made me happy.

Then, while Hazel napped, June was determined to take some field notes about her observations in nature. "I'm a scientist" June declared. When even I felt too cold to be outside and asked if she wanted to go inside I got a firm NO from the girl who originally wanted nothing to do with the outside. And I loved that afternoon more than most.

Lastly, we got a date in on the last day of the month! After eating dinner at a new place, we went to the Curiosity Museum, where I normally go with the girls, and we did the ropes course! First we got to go around the museum for a little bit and that was funny.

But the actual ropes course was a lot more nerve racking than I anticipated! And I was the one who wanted to do it but even I got to nervous to do all the parts of it. haha

And anyway. It was a good month. And despite my excitement for summer I do actually love spring quite a lot. And fall. Mostly I just love anything besides winter. I am happy for these next couple of flowery months!
