Four Months Young

Now that I'm starting to feel like a human again, I realized that I haven't taken the classic monthly photos for Rose. I mean, I don't know that I deliberately did that with June and I believe I didn't think to start with Hazel until like four months also, but whatever. Here we are now! Rose is four months young (as of yesterday.) And she is so wonderful!

 She's still pretty calm and easy going. She sleeps well and eats well. She's a little more serious at times and doesn't give out her smiles to just anyone. We still have yet to make her belly laugh, but we have gotten little giggles out.

 From the start she has had curious open hands, always more calm if they have something to hold onto. She LOVES her bath. We just hold her in a tub of water and help her float and she kicks and coos and gets instantly upset when we take her out.

 She adores her family. She talks the most for June and me, loves to stretch and smile with her daddy, and is quite curious about her ever moving and energetic sister, Hazel.

 She loves to make a little crop of spit bubbles and if she's laying down then she's always doing a crazy jig with her feet. She sleeps best fully swaddled and if she's not alone. Even though she will put herself to sleep I find myself wanting to take the time to rock her to sleep instead.

 She's shown no interest in any food other than milk. She is breastfed but will take a bottle if needed and that has been amazing! She's our only baby to like a pacifier and I was nervous but I have been loving it! It always calms her down!

 She is currently 10 lbs and 23 inches long. I love her little fading pink birth mark in between her blue eyes. She has some dark hairs growing on her head and dark, perfectly curled eye lashes. She also has a crazy little cowlick off to the right at the front of her hair line! It's twisted nicely, just like a little rose bud. :)

We love her so much! She's been so nice to have. With each baby I've been able to enjoy the time more. The love is so pure and simple for a baby. It's rare and grows quickly into a more complex world of love so I've been taking in these days. Often times I realize that my face is starting to hurt from smiling so much when I'm around her. Life doesn't get much sweeter than this!
