Two Weeks

Well folks. So far we've survived two weeks with three kids. I've only left the house twice- once for Rose's first check up and the second was to go for a drive with Buck. And I've been living in my fuzzy bathrobe like the classy lady that I am. The awake nights with a newborn are harder than I remember but the days are sweeter. Recovery has taken a toll on me that I wasn't expecting because I got a sinus infection, a uterus infection and on top of that the pains of normal recovery and breast engorgement. So I couldn't breathe, it hurt to walk, hurt to be touched, I felt gross, and I had a high fever. Cried a lot. Fun times. Haha
But now that I am feeling loads better I am feeling hope for the future. haha I am focusing on taking it one day at a time, sometimes a moment at a time. And God has been so good to let us feel His love and awareness of us, mostly by sending us family and friends who have been angels in helping! So many meals have been brought to us, visits, diapers, baby holders so we could sleep! It's been amazing! So thank you to all of you- you know who you are!
June's been loving this time and wants to hold Rose often and help with her. Hazel has had a harder time with the adjustment which makes me worry for her but we've been working on it a lot, making sure she feels loved and involved, never saying that mommy is staying home "for the baby" but because "mommy is still sick." And things like that. It took some time but Hazel finally wanted to hold the baby and give her some kisses. And today she's been very involved in Rose's first bath home. Things like that. June and Hazel are both crazy, loud, and cooped up so that's hard but *deep breaths* one day at a time, right? ;)

Rose is still wearing preemie sizes. She dropped to 4 lbs 12 oz after we left the hospital, (which is normal) and she has another appointment today so maybe I'll come back and update this with those stats later!

And last random thought: Thank you to everyone who comments. I have begun making these blogs into books and we get the comments printed as well so it's fun to look back and see who was around and involved. I have no idea how to change it so that I can comment back on your comments though, so if I've never responded that's why and I'm sorry! Anna from Germany- I've been meaning to say Congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope all is well!
Okay, thanks guys, back to life now. ;)

The Harrison sisters are just so precious! I love how involved June is and I'm curious to hear more about Hazel's experience as being the "middle child" now since I will have a middle child soon. I'm also happy to hear that you are feeling loads better after only 2 weeks! What a beautiful family of 5 you have!

Those first weeks...so precious, but so exhausting and overwhelming too!! Hang in there!!! I wish we lived close enough that we could be some of your helping "angels". I would love to hold that sweet baby!!
